Valentine’s Day is a time when significant others get together to celebrate the love they have for one another. After the Christmas holiday gift exchange, a person may not know what to get his or her sweetheart. You can do the cliche thing and get flowers, but it is nicer to get something very personal with great intent. This is where a plastic surgery procedure can make the perfect gift. The plastic surgery gift can be for something small such as a lip injection to create fuller lips, or Botox to remove those unwanted wrinkles. A gift certificate can also be purchased for something bigger, such as facial makeover.
“I find that husbands really like to make their wives feel special on Valentine’s day and the gift of plastic surgery is a great way to do that,” says Dr. Tim Jones, a facial plastic surgery specialist in Oklahoma City. While some men may be hesitate to give there wife a gift that indicates a change in aesthetics, the overwhelming majority would be thrilled with the idea.
Most couples that communicate well have usually spoken about it at some point in the past. Valentine’s Day is a great time to bring it up again in a gentle fashion. If she has expressed interest in the past, she should be really excited about the prospect of a little enhancing. If there has been no discussion in the past, then the topic of plastic surgery can always be brought up by talking about a celebrity to judge your significant other’s reaction. If he or she seems open to plastic surgery, then the door is open to a nice gift.
“Occasionally we’ll have couples come in together for a consultation,” says Dr. Jones. “it’s a great opportunity for us to answer questions for both spouses and to talk about their objectives. It makes the conversation so easy, and it’s often interesting to hear what each spouse has to say about their own flaws. They’ll tell me that one started talking about how much they wished for rhinoplasty and they other mentioned that they always hated their ears. They don’t always choose to both have surgery, but sometimes one will choose surgery and the other will choose just a bit of Botox to erase a few lines.”
If a cosmetic procedure seems like a nice surprise, then a gift certificate might be the perfect gift — packaged in a beautiful heart shaped box of candy. The recipient will still need to have a consultation with Dr. Jones to determine candidacy, but we have an array of options to make sure your gift is absolute perfection! Happy V-Day lovebirds!

We sculpt your lip shape and size with injections with collagen, dermal fillers or your fat. The results last for several months. If you want a permanent solution for thin lips, we also offer several types of grafts, as well as a technique that uses flaps from inside the lips.
Bye, Bye Wrinkles
The upper portion of your face shows some of the earliest signs of aging, such as worry lines on the forehead, crow’s feet and vertical lines between your eyes. Botox® has been used by millions of people around the world to treat these areas. In less than one hour, you can say goodbye to your wrinkles.
No More Blemishes
Nothing ruins Valentine’s Day more than waking up only to find that you have new blemishes on your skin. Our professional acne treatments remove excess oils, unclog pores and reduce inflammation to give you healthy, beautiful skin every day of the year.
Fresh, Radiant Skin
Skin rejuvenation gives your skin a fresh, radiant appearance. Our light chemical peels remove dead skin cells and the outer layer of the skin. You may have some minor redness for a few days after the treatment, so we recommend that you schedule the treatment at least one week before Valentine’s Day.

Nobody looks in the mirror and thinks, “Wow! My thin, wrinkled lips are sexy.” If you either don’t have a lot of volume in your lips naturally or if you have started to see more fine lines around your mouth, then you may want to consider getting fillers. As one of the most popular way of adding volume to your lips, fillers like Juvederm and Restylane can give you great results every time. Read on to learn more.
Zap Those Wrinkles
As you age, you start to notice fine lines and wrinkles present themselves all over your body— including around your mouth. Small wrinkles around your lips can make your natural lip look a little depleted. They can also make small things like applying lipstick a lot more difficult. By getting a few injections around your upper and lower lip your fine lines and wrinkles will be softened. They will leaving you looking a lot younger than before.
Plump that Pout
Nothing says sexy quite like having a full set of luscious, kissable lips. By injecting filler directly into your lips, they work to increase the volume, shape, and size of your lips. Depending on the look you are going for, Dr. Timothy Jones may recommend one type of filler over another. For instance, Restylane stays in place after it has been injected. This makes it a little more difficult for surgeons to move it around and mold it in your lip.
Even though cosmetics like lip liner and lipstick can easily take your lips up a notch, fillers can also do wonders. Lasting an average of about one year, fillers like Juvederm and Restylane can add immediate volume to your lips. Everyone wants to have full, luscious lips. Problem is, most of us have thin, uneven lips. What’s a person who’s not Rihanna or Angelina Jolie to do?
Take a trip to see Dr. Jones. He has a variety of lip enhancement options that are sure to give you the round, pouty lips you’ve always wanted.
Lip enhancement generally has one of two goals. Women who have naturally thin lips want to add size and shape to their lips. Or women who, as they have aged, have noticed that their lips lost volume and shape, now want to return the volume and fullness of their youth.
Dr. Jones’s lip enhancement techniques
• Injection with dermal filler — Dermal fillers such as Restylane and Radiesse are injected into both the upper and lower lips with a very fine needle to add volume. As the body absorbs the filler, retreatment is necessary.
• Fat injections — Dr. Jones first uses liposuction to remove fat from an unwanted area. That fat is purified, and then re-injected into the lips to add shape. Everyone is different, but usually around half to two thirds of the fat takes and is permanent.
• Collagen injections — Human-derived collagen, which is the skin’s natural support system, is injected into the lips to add volume. It degrades with time and will need retreatment.
• AlloDerm — AlloDerm is a sheet of human-derived collagen material. It is rolled and threaded along the full length of the lips, providing uniform fullness. It has to be replaced in six to 12 months.
• Dermal/fascia grafts — Body tissue such as skin, muscle, and collagen can be used to add fullness to the lips. Eventually the body will absorb these grafts, but some residual fullness will remain. Retreatment will be necessary to maintain more volume.
• Local flaps — This is a more permanent solution, where the lining inside the lips is incised and moved forward to add fullness.
If you’re tired of your thin, shapeless lifts, you have many options to change them with Dr. Jones. Call us at 405.418.5400 to schedule a consultation.
Some of us are born with thin lips. Others lose fullness as they get older. But plump, full lips don’t just have to be something you see when you go to an Angelina Jolie movie; you can have them, too.
Dr. Jones uses a variety of techniques to enhance his patients’ lips.
Dermal filler injections — Dermal fillers such as Restylane and Radiesse are very effective in adding definition and volume to the lips. Using a very fine needle, Dr. Jones injects these fillers into both the upper and lower lips. As the fillers are absorbed by the body, another session is necessary.
Fat injections — This type of lip enhancement has the added benefit of removing fat from another area of the body before it is injected into the lips to add volume. The harvested fat is purified and then re-injected.
Collagen injections— Dr. Jones only uses human-derived collagen to avoid the adverse reactions caused by bovine collagen. Collagen is used in the same way that fat is injected.
Grafts — Grafts are inserted through incisions made in the inside corners of the mouth.
AlloDerm — In this procedure, a sheet of collagen material derived from humans is rolled and threaded along the full length of the lips to enhance them. The procedure needs to be repeated every six to 12 months.
Dermal/fascia grafts — Body tissue from other areas can be grafted into the lips, as well. Skin, muscle, and collagen from the patient is used. This is a long-term option.
Local flaps — In this technique, the lining inside the lips is incised and moved forward to add fullness.

Full, luscious lips are definitely sexy! Unfortunately not everyone is born with lips like Angelina Jolie. As we age, our lips become thinner and less defined. If you feel unsatisfied with your lips, lip augmentation could be an option.
Many of our patients have benefitted from lip augmentation — some opted for implants, some chose fillers. Lip enhancement can address the following issues and concerns:
Volume loss – Hyaluronic acid fillers such Restylane can be injected directly into the lips to add volume and definition. This type of filler also attracts water to the area, which further boosts its volume-enhancing effects. Plus, hyaluronic acid fillers are naturally absorbed by the body, which helps prevent the appearance of the bumps that can occur with other types of fillers.
Downturned lips and vertical lip lines – The natural pull of gravity that comes with aging can result in drooping lips, particularly on the upper lip. A sagging upper lip can also result in vertical lip lines. A combination of hyaluronic acid fillers and muscle relaxants such as Botox can subtly soften the lip lines for a more naturally youthful look.
Poor lip definition – A majority of women use lip liners, lipsticks, and other lip products to improve the overall definition of their lips. An increasing number of women have resorted to fillers, fat transfers, and collagen injections to help them achieve fuller lips without the hassle of applying lip products every day.
Finding a reputable lip enhancement specialist with solid experience is crucial to achieving your desired outcomes, whether you’re interested in fillers, collagen injections, or fat transfer. Explore your lip augmentation options with us! Call us 405.418.5400to schedule an appointment.
